Research Associate, Liveable Cities Programme
Dr Ellie Cosgrave is a Research Associate at UCL STEaPP. Her research for the City Leadership Initiative investigates how digital technology and the information economy challenge governance systems and structures in cities.
Her work explores transformative approaches to policy making and governance of cities. Ellie undertook her Engineering Doctorate at the University of Bristol, sponsored by the Smart Cities team at Arup. Whilst at Arup she worked with London, Bristol, and Birmingham on their strategic planning around smart technology, as well as UK government and the C40 cities network. Her thesis investigated the policy and governance implications of th eSmart City agenda and devised a practical framework for local authorities attempting to invest in this area.
